Clemente documentary to air on AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh
September 15 is recognized throughout Major League Baseball as Roberto Clemente Day. And it was on this day that TribLIVE's recent documentary Keeping the Dream Alive premiered on AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh. The documentary will be rebroadcast Thursday, September 22 at 4:30 PM.
Fifty years after the death of Roberto Clemente, his family is in a bitter feud with the government of Puerto Rico. Our colleagues spent the last five months talking to the Clemente family, their supporters and their critics. They traveled to Puerto Rico to document the abysmal state of Ciudad Deportiva Roberto Clemente – a youth sports park that is in ruins.
The result is an eye-opening story and gripping 27-minute documentary (YouTube link in the story) that shows the untold story of Clemente’s unfinished legacy.
