Pitt honors Trib publisher with distinguished alumni award
The University of Pittsburgh recently honored Trib Total Media President and CEO Jennifer Bertetto for her professional accomplishments in the news industry.
The university recognized Bertetto with the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professional Achievement Alumni Award.
The school’s dean, Kathleen Blee, said the award recognizes Bertetto’s remarkable professional achievements and her role as an advocate for the news industry and local news outlets. In selecting her for the award, Blee highlighted Bertetto’s reputation as an innovator in the industry.
Bertetto of Lower Burrell graduated magna cum laude from Pitt in 1997 and serves on the advisory board of The Pitt News.
In October, Bertetto was named Publisher of the Year by Editor & Publisher, the leading trade publication for the newspaper industry. In 2021, she was awarded the Benjamin Franklin Award for Excellence by the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association.
