Trib Total Media’s President’s Circle Awards,
formerly the ICARE Awards, were established to recognize employees for exhibiting the core values of Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Evolution, and Ownership and for making a difference to Trib Total Media, 535media, PrintSource, and the communities that we serve.
Congratulations to the Q1 2022 President’s Circle Awards Employees of the Quarter:
Claudine DePaul - Advertising Claudine has been a part of the Trib team for 12 years. She is currently an Advertising and Marketing Consultant for the Advertising Department but she has held a number of advertising positions over the years including New Products Sales, Promotional Products, and Classifieds.
“Claudine has a wealth of knowledge in digital and print advertising and has been a key contributor during her tenure at TTM,” said Adam Serena, Trib Total Media Advertising Manager. “She selflessly shares her expertise with anyone in need of assistance.”
Claudine was the highest revenue-producer in the company in Q1, 2022 with $182,819. Additionally, Claudine led the way in digital revenue during the same time frame, with $65,104. Claudine was asked to lead a digital training session and jumped at the opportunity.
"She is an excellent role model in the advertising department,” said Inside Sales Representative Michelle Upton. “Claudine is always willing and available to share her methods of effective selling.”
Claudine is currently a senior at Seton Hill University and is only 2 classes away from her bachelor’s degree. She has six kids, four grandsons, three dogs, and a 2017 Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle! She and her husband live in Monroeville.
Joe Cummings – Business Joe Cummings is an IT Tech who has been with Trib Total Media since October 2004.
“I have worked with Joe for 17 years,” said Dave Matteoni, Director of IT. “And, in all those years, I have never had one person have a bad thing to say about Joe!”
In his role with the IT Department, Joe works with every department and employee within the company, troubleshooting any number of technical issues with the network, computers, desk phones, cell phones, printers, and more. Joe is extremely knowledgeable, is quick to respond, and always has a smile on his face.
Joe’s integrity, kindness, and willingness to help extend well beyond the office though.
“I was in a car accident on the Tarentum Bridge one morning. Joe was driving by on his way to work and stopped to make sure I was okay and if I needed anything,” said Brian Osborne, Human Resources Manager. “I really appreciated that he went out of his way to check on me.”
Joe and his wife Patti live in Plum Borough. They are ushers at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Monroeville and enjoy exercising and traveling. They have 2 children Lexi and Ryan.
Jeff Vella - Editorial Jeff Vella is a Copy Editor in the Sports Department. Jeff is celebrating his 15-year anniversary with Trib Total Media this month.
“Jeff is an unsung hero on the copy desk,” said Luis Fabregas, Trib Total Media Executive Editor. “He is reliable, consistent, and can be depended on to jump in and get the job done every time.”
According to fellow copy editor Brady Hunter, “Jeff’s integrity is one of his defining traits.” Jeff is a thorough proofreader, produces thoughtful page designs, and is committed to giving readers the best product possible.
In addition, Jeff has taken it upon himself to organize the sports desk’s schedule. This responsibility is not in Jeff’s job description but requires a great deal of time and coordination. He stepped up to take on this additional work and he shoulders it well.
“Jeff is truly a team player who leads by example. He pushes everyone to do their best, and won’t settle for just getting a page done,” said Hunter.
Jeff grew up in Western New York and continues to hold out hope that the Buffalo Bills will win a Super Bowl in his lifetime. He loves to travel and hike and his favorite place to visit is Siesta Key, Fla. Jeff and his wife Jen live in Churchill with their 17-year-old cat Pumpkin.
Employees of the Quarter will be selected 4 times per year. Each Employee of the Quarter will receive $100. An Employee of the Year will be selected from among the Employees of the Quarter and will receive a $2000 bonus.
